A Local Historic District Commission would review changes to exterior architectural features that are visible from a public way. Only built exterior features will be considered as contributing to the Historic District.
Items under review would include: siding, windows, doors, trim, foundations, dormers, chimneys, exterior stairs, lighting fixtures, fences, air conditioning units, outbuildings.
Hardscapes, in the form of terraces, driveways and site walls are included as character defining features as they contribute to the overall quality of the neighborhood.
Per M.G.L Chapter 40C, plantings are excluded from review.
Interior repairs and renovations shall NOT be considered.
