The Town of Weston, acting through its Town Manager, is seeking qualified firms to perform full and complete design and construction administration services for the renovation of Brook School Apartment Building A Lower Level. The anticipated total cost for the project which includes storage, exercise and social areas and other associated work is $500,000, including all architectural/engineering costs. Proposals will be received until 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 11, 2021 at the Office of Town Manager, Town Hall, 11 Town House Road, P.O. Box 378, Weston, MA, 02493. Town Hall is currently closed to the public, so hand delivered proposals should be submitted in the locked box outside of Town Hall. Five (5) printed copies and five (5) electronic copies on thumb drives in pdf form of the proposal shall be submitted.
The Request for Proposals will be available for download on the Town’s website at www.weston.org/bids starting on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at 10:00AM.
A briefing session will be held on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. at the Brook School Apartments Building A Lower Level/Rear at 44 School Street.
It is anticipated that the design services for Phase 1 & 2 will be completed within 6 months of award of the project, and that the Construction Administration Services, Phase 3 will be completed 8 months after the award of the Construction Contract.
The Scope of Services shall include:
Phase 1: Full development of Schematic Design and Design Development Plans (35% design).
Phase 2: Completion of Design Development Plans, preparation of Construction Documents, and Bidding Process Administration.
Phase 3: Provision of Construction Administration and Inspection Services for the Project (subject to appropriation of funds and authorization by the Town Manager).
Designer qualifications are set forth in the Request for Proposals. The designer shall be an Architect registered in Massachusetts, and must have experience in design, adaptive re-use and renovation of public buildings in Massachusetts.
The Town Manager reserves the right to reject any and all proposals and to cancel the procurement at any time if it is in the best interest of the Town.
